Talking about the weather is the easiest way to start a conversation in Korean. Koreans often greet each other with comments like 날씨가 좋네요 or 오늘 덥죠? This set covers 20 words for sun, rain, snow, wind and clouds, plus the words you will hear in a Korean weather report. Korea has four clear seasons, a long rainy period in early summer called 장마, and in spring you may hear about 황사 (yellow dust) and 미세먼지 (fine dust) on the news, so those two are worth knowing early. Most weather words are nouns that go with a verb: 비가 와요 (it rains), 눈이 와요 (it snows), 바람이 불어요 (the wind blows). Use these words with the weather phrases below and you can chat with anyone.
