1 / 24 Job words tell people who you are and what you do. In Korean, many jobs end in -사 (expert), -원 (member), -가 (specialist) or -관 (officer), for example 의사 (doctor), 회사원 (office worker), 작가 (author) and 경찰관 (police officer). When someone asks 직업이 뭐예요? (What is your job?), you can answer with a job word plus 이에요/예요. Koreans often call a person by job title plus 님, such as 선생님 (teacher) or 사장님 (boss). Learning these words helps with introductions, forms and business cards, and it also lets you understand the characters in K-dramas.
Practise introducing yourself: '저는 ___이에요/예요' with your own job, then try your family's jobs.
